Let go of things

“This is why it is so important to let certain things go. To release them. To cut loose. People need to understand that no one is playing marked cards; sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Don’t expect to get anything back, don’t expect recognition for your efforts, don’t expect your genius to be discovered or your love to be understood. Complete the circle. Not out of pride, inability, or arrogance, but simply because whatever it is, no longer fits in your life. Close the door. Change the record. Clean the house. Get rid of the dust. Stop being who you were and become who you are.”

– Paulo Coelho

I take this opportunity to say how much I admire this writer. It hasn’t been long since I ‘discovered’ him. As a matter of fact, it’s been too little, about two years. It all started with a moment of boredom when I started searching between my mum’s books and found The Alchemist. What a great book! That is how I discovered Mr. Coelho. I was thrilled. It was full of magic. I read the whole book in less than a day and I can swear that I’ve lived each new thing as if I was part of the story. I’ve also followed him on Twitter on the same day and since then, I take his tweets to my heart and I look at them as life lessons.

I can’t say that I’m a fan. No. I doubt I’m a fan of anyone or anything, but I really appreciate and respect him. And I would love it if he could read what I have to say about him, because it comes from my heart. There may be people who would go so crazy just to get his attention, but I will not. If he has the time to view this post (and why not others too) I would be honoured.

Talking about the quote, it goes to anyone who wants change. To change himself/herself. Or who wants change from around them. Unless you do it yourself, step by step, you will not achieve it. Unless you do it yourself, fully, letting go of your past and erasing the negative moments, you will not achieve it. It’s all about you. And you can do it!

Keep it up the good work Mr. Paulo Coelho. Bring us even more happiness and magic!πŸ™‚
